Sturnus roseus

Paul contacted me earlier about the ageing of the Rosy Pastor (Rose-coloured Starling!). Going purely on the single pic posted by Rich, I would think it's a first-winter based on the quite yellowish bill (a juvenile feature) and the pale tips to the greater coverts - although I guess juveniles would undertake a complete post-juvenile moult (?- certainly head & body in this case), the newer wing feathers I don't believe would show pale tips in adult winter, certainly not in February. Please add to the discussion if you can (I'm sure the ringers out there can add plenty)!
