Just talked to John Hayes who got called in to the refinery this am and found three of the Swallows dead and no sign of the others around the usual roost sites.
The dead ones only weighed around 12g when a healthy summer bird would be 17 - 20g so almost half their usual body weight. perhaps not suprising they should succumb in this weather - will it also clobber the Dartford's and Cetti's I wonder.
