Today some preparation of our rides, for the year ahead. This evening over the Mallard hide / run area of the reed-bed, Peregrine, a Barn Owl hunting for 10 mins. & at 18:33 a Bittern flew from the Pentood end of the reed-bed, and tried to drop into the ringing ride, it actually diverted and went into the commercial reed cut area.(Karen)
I wonder if Bittern(s) will prefer this channel now to feed at night as the ringing channels in the reeds at Kingfisher hide (last year's favoured feeding) are currently flooded?
