Whilst waiting for a herd of cows to be removed from blocking the road near our house, before we went of birding in NE Pembs, 7 pink-footed geese flew low over our house (new garden tick) near Martletwy from the east towards Landshipping. Gaining height, they appeared to fly on towards Haverfordwest direction before being lost from view. Seemed most likely to be a family party, the distinctive flight call was what drew attention to them otherwise I might have assumed local greylags and not bothered to check them at all.
NB having been out since reporting them this morning, I wonder if these birds had been disorientated by quite dense fog and drizzle that was evident to the east and north over higher ground.
