Info Post
The Snow Bunting seen at St David's Head yesterday was a great deal more obliging today and I was able to get very good views for at least a short while. It was in the area immediately north-east of the Burial Chamber. I was happy it was a male but missed some details (stupidly) for whether it was a 1st year or an adult. However it was absolutely certainly of the nominate race 'nivalis, having a completely white centre to the rump (caused by abrasion to the gingery feather tips)and a nice frosty back/mantle. Following a number of helpful photos here on the blog and elsewhere, the question is becoming where are the Icelandic 'insulae' birds we thought to see? Also today 2 Barn Owls seen by Kathy, at Withybush and Sealyham, where also a Woodcock flushed this afternoon.
