Whilst watching a chef with long greasy hair boiling a duck egg for several hours (or so it seemed) my attention wandered out of the window. Something big was being mobbed by something small. I grabbed my bins and the "small" was a female sparrowhawk, the "big" was a buzzard. As they approached I began to realise by the ponderous almost mechanical flight, long tail, broad wings and small head that this was not one of our local buzzards but a honey! Delighted, I returned indoors where the chef with the greasy hair was making a treacle tart.
It looked nice but not as good as the honey!
New garden list raptor.
