Info Post
Currently halfway through a 3 week campervan trip round south island New Zealand. Strange to be the other side of the world with Blackbirds and Songthrushes singing and feeding young. Yellowhammers, Chaffinches, Goldfinches common and flocks of Redpolls(!). In fact the introduced birds are more common than the native ones.
More exotic species seen on a Pelagic from Kaikoura - 5 species of Albatross, various Petrels and all at very close quarters. Also 2 Sperm Whales.
2 Kiwis seen well but briefly at Okarito as well as White Heron and Black Swans.
Heading south to Milford Sound, hopefully for Penguins and more of the amazing scenery.
Photo shows a Salvins Albatross. For more pics click here.
