Info Post
At Bosherston around midday just one small patch of ice free water by the reed bed otherwise the whole lake system is frozen over. 6 Goosander, 12 Little Grebes and a few Wigeon, Teal, Gadwall, Mallard and Coot were present but numbers generally down.
At Freshwater West no further sign of the interesting Pipit despite the efforts of several observers. Paddy J saw a Ringtail Hen Harrier on Castlemartin Corse but otherwise the area was very quiet. A Heron by the bridge succumbed to the cold before our eyes. The Crane has not been seen now for several days.
In St Florence a Peregrine flew over as I arrived back home and in the garden there are now 3 Brambling. Yesterday the Green Sandpiper on the Ritec was joined by a Little Egret.
