We have been watching the "Llanon " Med. Gull counts with interest , & surely they will top the "ton" soon!
Our late summer best was Fishguard 2006, when in late August we reached 23 birds, this has declined to 1/2.
I have just received this movement of a fem. AESE.
She was with us(F'guard) in her 1st year (18/8/07) & was from a small colony in the Elbe est. (D) breeding amongst c4000 prs. Common Gulls. Last year(19/4/08) in a BH Gull colony (D), & then earlier this year (26/5/09) back at her natal colony--Elbe est. presumably breeding.
She (AESE) is currently (11/7/09) at Badminton GP in Hampshire amongst c200 Med. Gulls.
Clearly not at Llanon!
The Badminton roost in Hants can exceed 500 Med. Gulls, even Llanon has away to go!
