butterflies

How interesting to hear of someone with lots of butterflies; our garden which is large, & full of flowers is having the worst year I have known (in about 20) for them. We have a large (well over 6 feet high & covered in well scented blooms) buddlia & in the sunshine yesterday 3 red admirals! As for the rest, a few (less than a dozen) whites & a couple of meadow browns. I do not know where our coppers, blues, etc etc have gone, but I do know a count here would be a non-starter!
