We managed a short ringing session near Chevron this morning and recaught around 40 birds but only eight new ones. Quite a lot of tits which was quite different to my Marloes feeding site and two male Chaffinches with wing lengths of 95mm and weighing almost 26gm indicating a much more northerly (northern Scandinavia) or easterly (eastern germany, poland, denmark or further, heritage.
Near Popton a first winter Iceland Gull floating along beside the car was very nice and a little later a Little Egret in one of the tiny streams on the Commons in Pembroke- virtually in the middle of the town.
Not so many finches around the cattle near Kilpaison Burrows today.
Chaffinches and gulls and stuff
