Monkhaven / Philbeach

At the water treatment works, still some 10 - 12 Chiffs, with colour variations from greenish yellow, through brown to a light grey. 1 Firecrest, (2 yesterday) 4 Goldcrests, Grey wagtail. Quite a few thrushes in the surrounding trees.
At Philbeach the Cattle egret was absent, though whilst I was pondering on it`s whereabouts, a Comorant flew in to the scrub below, or at the bottom of the field. Having just checked the O/S map, there is a small pool there - though well hidden. (SM 808075) Does the Egret find shelter/ roost there, I wonder?
