The number & distribution of Gadwall & Shoveler appears greater than usual presumably due to the cold.
A count of 176 +( 35 on estuary)of Gadwall at WWT Penclawydd (Carms.) y'day a likely site record.(Barry Stewart). We have seen Gadwall & Shoveler at most waters in the last 2 days, St. David's Ponds, Bicton etc as well as the more usual sites, & good nos. at Marloes Mere y'day.
