Kestrel successfully hunting on the slope above Pantmaenog House, carried its prey westward into the conifers. A kite was repeatedly dropping out of sight into a stream channel, crows and a LBB gull also in the area suggest possible carrion. Quite a few wheatear - counted 8, with a nearby GS woodpecker causing a pair some alarm. White and grey wagtails carrying food. Cuckoo still calling. (Thurs early am - Cuckoo perched on a roadside boulder on north side of the Preselis)
