Still at Marloes Mere this morning. Looking at them close together in the sunshine, I could see that bird number 4 - the recent arrival - had a much browner head & neck, lacking the rich red/brown of the others. The field guide indicates that this could be 1st winter, so it would appear that it is a young bird, though I have little knowledge of these beautiful creatures.
