Info Post
The wind calmed down a lot after 6pm this evening and, as it did, a number of Willow Warblers emerged in the valley, as well as Stonechats and at least 3 rather territorial Robins. No sign of the reported Barred Warbler in an hour and a quarter's watch, but I got rather excited by periodic tapping from the depths of the sallows: a Wryneck, perhaps? Alas, instead a juvenile Great-Spotted Woodpecker. Looking at my records, these juveniles are a regular autumn occurrence in this pretty treeless valley.

The Gann at 5pm, about 2 hours before high tide.
Very few waders except for 11 Oystercatchers, and a single Whimbrel and juvenile Turnstone feeding in the weed on the timeline near the Pill. A flock of at least 15 Rock Pipits a White Wagtail and a Wheatear. At least 2 Sand Martins over. One Dabchick on the pools.
