Hmm. apologies for describing chiff chaff in my garden as "Siberian. I used it in a generic sense rather than specific e.g. Trystis. I should perhaps more accurately according to BWP (CE) have described it as "Eastern race".
There is another one in my garden today. I got good views of this one as it sang "Swil-lu" repeatedly and it looked quite bright / warm despite the overcast conditions. As northern/ eastern race birds are described in BWP as less warm/cooler, I wonder what or where it did actually come from. This is a shot I got on Sunday after a lot of hide and seek, Could this be a case of avian identity theft?
My only reason for passing it on to Richard/PB was to alert people to the fact there seemed to be a substantial "fall" of paserine migrants, which also seems to be the case today.
