Marloes Mere, late afternoon.

A female Merlin - which I assume was last winter`s resident - making three sustained attacks on Meadow Pipits, all spectacular, all unsucccessful. I came upon her a few minutes later, sitting atop a fence post at the white cottage looking slightly knackered, staring at me through the rain. Also 3 Wigeon, 1m, 2f & as noted earlier, our old friend, the Glossy Ibis.
