At the Gann this morning, two male Goldeneyes. The only other notable feature was a huge (500 or so, maybe more) flock of Jackdaws feeding on the shoreline and flying around, "chacking" all the time. There seem to be more Jackdaws around this autumn/winter than I can remember - perhaps they have had a really good breeding season with the fields nice and wet for digging up leatherjackets and the youngsters tucked up dry and warm in their chimneys and tree holes?
