Info Post
At Bosherston late morning the female Ring-necked Duck was on the central arm in company with a lone rh Goldeneye. I wonder if it has been tucked away up the central arm all winter? Otherwise pretty quiet with 8 Goosander (including just 1 ad. drake) 2 Pochard, 22 Swans and a few Coot. The Tufteds all seem to have departed.
No sign either of the Bitterns in the Broadhaven reedbed. A Swan was nest building there and frogs were calling - I'm surprised there are any left with the Bitterns having been there for most of the winter!
4 Chiffchaffs heard around the ponds as well as a Tawny Owl. Second time I have heard the Owl this week.
