Marsh Tit vs Willow Tit

A very interesting article in this month's Birdwatch that sheds new light (well, new if you haven't read the 2009 British Birds article) on how to separate these two tricky species. Several previously 'nailed-on' features aren't perhaps as useful as you might think - e.g. the glossy-ness, or not, of the cap. Well worth a read - particularly if we are to really understand the true distribution of these two species in our County.
