Interesting post from Richard D last Thursday - lots of passerines on this walk including good numbers (a dozen or so) of Stonechats. I did this walk in Feb and saw hardly any passerines at all and no Stonechats. Amazing what a bit of Spring will do! (Other observers have reported the same thing for other areas.) So where do our Stonechats go in the winter - or are they still there but just low profile? Peter
