A bittern was seen flying across the Bass lagoon at 17.10 (not by me).
A bittern was heard booming somewhere towards the south end of the reserve at 17.25.
A bittern was then seen flying from the southern end of the reserve across the reed bed, crossing the railway track into the Bass lagoon (18.35).
It was viewed from the Badger walk, where there is a seat. Some pruning in this area would facilitate better viewing conditions across the reed bed!
Are there 2 bitterns present?
