Purple Heron (?), Ring Ouzels, Short-eared Owls & Lapland Buntings

A great day today in the Dale/Marloes area:
Martin's Haven: lots of Chaffinches over, good numbers of Meadow Pipits & a few Skylarks.
Gann: 9 Redshank, 1 Greenshank, 3 Bar-tailed Godwit, 6 Little Egret, 9 Little Grebe, 1 Goldeneye & 3 Wigeon.
Dale Airfield: 2 Short-eared Owls flushed from the short grass in the 'middle triangle', also 3 Lapland Buntings amongst the many (60+) Skylarks.
St. Ann's Head: 3 Ring Ouzels (2 adult males & a 1stW female) in Mill Bay, and a female Blackcap.
Dale: 2 Chiffchaff, 2 Siskin over.
Dale Fort: 1 Brambling, 1 Redwing, 2 Blackcaps, 1 Chiffchaff.
Marloes Mere: 2 Lapland Buntings flew over S/E, 1 Merlin, 5 Gadwall, 4 Wigeon, 6 Teal, 6 Mallard.

A report from Birdguides of a Purple Heron at the Gann this afternoon, from the car park. No other details - presumably a visiting birder. Derek couldn't locate it at dusk.
