Freshwater West
Info Post
As I was sitting in the car having coffee at Freshwater West around midday a Kestrel, hovering nearby, was suddenly attacked by a Peregrine but deftly sidestepped it. The Peregrine turned it's attention to a Rook then scattered all the Grey Plover on the rocks. Four Chough then came along and one posed on a fence post long enough for a photo. Not bad so far but things got even better.
I then went for a walk and spotted a Merlin sunning itself on a post near the stream which runs down to the beach. I shot back to the car, grabbed my camera and went back and by sneaking up behind a dune managed a few shots. What stunning little falcons Merlins are!
