Some quality winter birding around the south of the county today.
Landshipping and Lawrenny quiet but at Garron Pill - 1 Jack Snipe, c30 Common Snipe and a Greenshank.
Angle Bay from the village - 1 Slavonian Grebe, 1 Spotted Redshank, 3 Great Northern Divers, 5 Great Crested Grebes, 2 adult Med Gulls, at least 7 Light bellied Brent Geese but distant so possibly more roosting, 1 Greenshank heard.
Castlemartin Corse - excellent views of an immature Marsh harrier. 6 Stock Dove.
St Govans - only a few Shag, small numbers of Kittiwakes and Auks and distant Gannets seen during a short sea watch.
Pembroke River at Bentlass - 1 Great Northern Diver, 80 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 Greenshank, c250 Dunlin, 7 Ringed Plover and over 3,000 Wigeon.
