Couldn't find the Bobolink this morning, but if its grovelling around in the bracken it could easily still be here - we've got bracken for miles & it would only need to be a few metres off a track & I'd never see it
A really good mornings birding anyway - there's not been many days with much visible migration going on but hopefully today was the start of things to come
320 Chaffinches, 220 Starlings, 220 Linnets, about 500 Swallows, a Tree Sparrow (haven't seen 1 on here for about 4 years), 8 Siskins, 1 Snow Bunting & 2 Lapland Buntings flew over & in the bushes there was 10 Song Thrushes, 1 Grasshopper Warbler, 4 Chiffchaffs, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Whinchat, 3 Blackcaps, 6 Wheatears & a stunning male Ring Ouzel
