An excellent days birding today, highlights were a Firecrest, at least 16 Spotted Flycatchers, 1 Pied Flycatcher, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 4 Blackcaps, 3 Redstarts & 1 Whinchat, 1 Yellow Wag & 2 Tree Pipits. There was another fairly big hirundine movement again today, haven't made up any figures yet though!
Yesterday there was a big hirundine movement - ca5,000 Swallows, 500 House Martins & 200 Sand Martins. A few less migrants in the bushes - 1 Redstart, 6 Spotted Flycatchers, & 2 Whinchats. There was a different ringtail Hen Harrier seen, this 1 had a yellow wing-tag, but the people who saw it couldn't make out the number.
