Newgale and a Haverfordwest Hobby
Info Post
The beach was quiet today but for a single Curlew. However, it was interesting to see Black-headed, Herring and Great and Lesser Black-back Gulls in various plumages and stages of moult. The larger gulls were feeding on small crabs and shellfish stirred up by the surf and the Black-headed probably on zooplankton at the very edge of the incoming tide. On the way back, just before the Dirty Bridge roundabout going into Haverfordwest, a Hobby caused confusion as it sped through a flock of Jackdaws.
