At the Gann this morning with the tide well up, 22 Brent Geese on the lagoon together with 5 Goldeneye, 15 Redshank and a Little Egret. Star of the show, however, the Otter, pictured, which swam close whilst fishing and then went onto the bank to eat a crab. Wonderful!!!
At Marloes pretty quiet apart from the birds of prey - a (tagged) Red Kite appeared over Middleholm and flew inland over the Deer Park. A pair of Peregrines soared over the Mere car park. The tagged Hen Harrier hunted over the Mere for a while, disappeared, and then zipped past the hide for a quick record shot. All in glorious sunshine - no sign of Wheatears or Sand Martins but surely Spring is around the corner.
