Webs @ Newport Sun morning. Flushed a lone Redshank by the Boat Club. It towered off, Snipe like, making a Redshankish call (chew chew I noted). Took 2 secs to click - no white on the wings - by which time it had gone, not to be seen again.
Otherwise 2 Goosanders upstream, 3 Little Egrets, 2 Little Grebes, 6 Wigeon, 20 Dunlin, 9 Ringed Plovers, a Knot, 3 ordinary Redshanks, a Kingfisher a Moorhen & a Greenshank.
Just 5 Curlew on the estuary, but 27 on the roost.
One that got away?
