St Davids Hd am

A really enjoyable Spring day, even the weather better than forecast. A Hobby started  things, giving excellent close, low views as it flew south along the back of Whitesands Beach. A day total of 79 Whimbrels with a very red Barwit was the best for me so far. The 1st s Male Redstart was still in the Porthmelgan withies and associating with another male which I think was the same age. There were 6 Tree Pipits, 4 over and 2 hanging around at The Gesail (where I thought I heard one yesterday but the roar of the wind made it difficult to be sure). 3 Swifts went through and there were good numbers of Hirundines around the area. Also 54 Wheatears and quite a few Willow Warblers still with 4 Blackcaps.
