Whilst walking over from Treginnis Farm towards the copper mine at Ramsay Sound I noticed a large raptor (Honey Buzzard) coming in off the sea. It wasn't hanging around and I just managed to snap it as it flew overhead towards St Davids. It looks pretty ragged but hopefully will find plenty of bees and wasps having made a landfall!
With Wheatears still arriving here on migration, it was good to see a mainland breeding bird obviously feeding young. I have also been hearing Cuckoo's quite frequently mornings and evenings, around my house, something that has been sadly missed over the past ten years where they were once abundant, a real feature of the spring and early summer. Perhaps a revival, lets hope so!
