An early visit to St Davids Airfield (very early, ahead of the doggy walkers), produced: 2 Dunlins, 2 Ringed Plovers, 2 Whimbrels, a single Curlew and 29 Wheatears.
Later, at Porthclais, we comfirmed successful breeding for Long-tailed Tits. Also present, 3 Spotted Flycatchers.
Passing by Trefeiddan Moor a Cuckoo called and a Short-eared Owl was seen hunting (08:45) - always special. A SEO has been present here for a couple of months or more.....so to, too many foxes, and the Cuckoo has been working the area for several days now.
Out at Point St John headland 15 more Wheatears, another Whimbrel and a further Spotted Flycatcher were added to the early morning total.
