Info Post
A bright female Golden Oriole was flushed from a gorse bank at 9:2O, it was carrying what looked like a big, hairy caterpillar and dived into cover about 50 metres away. At 10:38 I saw it again, with another caterpillar in a spindly bush above the original site. It dropped down into the gorse and blackthorn presumably to eat its meal. I kept the area under view until Paul G and Lyndon arrived but could then find no sign of it. It wasn't seen to 12:15 when I left but fingers crossed. It didn't appear to want to move on and seemed to be feeding well. The directions are: head for Porthmelgan Beach, and go straight up the bank in front of you rather than follow the path out to the Head or up into the valley. The bird was in the next bank in front of you across 'The Hollow'. One other sighting of note, a Brimstone butterfly  (Paul).
