The female can now be observed sitting opposite the nesting cavity where she waits for the delivery of food by her mate. His arrival is signalled with a few bursts of excited kee-keeing, a passing of food prey, followed by his departure and her return to her chicks.
Last year the first chick appeared at the nest's entrance on 29th May.
