Wednesday 30th September
A sea-watch at Strumble between 07.00hrs and 11.30hrs produced 54 Common Scoters (49 male & 5 female) Also 1 Great Skua. I had a distant sighting of 2 Risso's Dolphins.
In the afternoon my wife and I took a walk up to Carn Ingli from the car park at Bedd Morris. There we were blessed by the presence of a trio of red kites. On the way up we saw a female peregrine perched on a rock near Carn Briw she was watching what we were watching which was a grand flock of about 500 golden plover flying above Carningli common. These split off into smaller groups as we continued our walk. We reached the summit of Carn Ingli where we had great views of a hovering hen kestrel. Red admiral and painted lady butterflies flitted around us on the summit absorbing the warmth of the sunshine as we did.
