Info Post
Following on from Rich's posting, at 710 I was just starting the car to go to work when I saw 4 swans flying fairly low to my right, more or less directly over Patch Community Centre. My thought process went from "Oooh, nice, Mute Swan, that's a house tick" to "****, they're not Mutes!" in a split second, and as fast as I can get my bins out of the boot (pretty fast) I just got enough on them as they headed roughly N/W over the eastern side of the upper racecourse to confirm they were Whoopers! After a quickly aborted attempt at running after them (not advisable in a suit in any case), I drove at a rate of knots to Portfield Gate and picked them up distantly with the 'scope heading towards Keeston-ish - N/W anyway. It seemed a pretty strong headwind, so maybe they might put down...Newgale Marsh perhaps? A great, and unexpected, house tick, following hot on the heels of Black Redstart!
