"Today we surveyed along the most southern area of the Porcupine Bank. Seabirds for the day were gannet, fulmar, kittiwake, great skua and sooty shearwater.
"Bird life remained plentiful but with few species. Gannet, fulmar (one of which was 'blue-phase'), kittiwake, great skua and great shearwater was the species list for the day."
Follow the daily progress of the survey on the IWDG Ship Surveys pages.
FYI: The porcupine bank is an area of the Irish shelf approximately 320Km or 200 miles west of Ireland. perhaps to put it into context, within a days flight from Strumble Head....
Just to whet the imagination of my seawatching friends!
