Like everyone else I was gobsmacked when walking at Marloes Mere this evening, lots of Willow Warblers and a Redstart but most impressive was the spread of Wheatears - at times there were 4 or 5 on each gorse bush! I wouldf estimate over 100 on the south side of the Mere alone. To my eye the majority were of the Greenland variety. Didn't see the Garganey and no sign of the Black Duck, but it's getting more difficult to see the ducks there now as the vegetation grows.
