Yesterday bundled up against the wind & rain - today warm enough with just a fleece, & migrants everywhere.
In the copse at Gt Castle Head, 2 Willow warbs singing, 2 Blackcaps singing, Chiffs also, on the irrigation pond 16 Swallows feeding.
4 Whimbrel heading towards Sandyhaven.
1 Grasshopper warbler, singing in the hedge which borders our house & the neighbouring field( at St Ishmaels)
Marloes mere.
Drake & duck Garganey still present, numerous chiffs, willows by the hide, a possible Lesser whitethroat & a fleeting glimpse of a small wader which at first looked like common sand (no wing bar) completely dark brown above - landed somewhere to the right of the hide, & vanished despite attempts to find it!
As yet no Cattle egret!!
