At Kilpaison this morning a small group of waders flew off just as I arrived - 1 Black Tailed Godwit, a Knot and c.10 Dunlin/Ringed Plover. A few stayed behind - 16 Dunlin, 12 Ringed Plover, 1 Turnstone and 3 Redshank. One poor juv Dunlin was staggering around the beach dragging a Cockle behind which it seemed to have its toes stuck in. It managed to fly some way with it but in the end I lost sight of it.
