Info Post
Some more Sedge Warblers were caught during a short ringing session on the marsh before the rain. Total for the year now 532. Numbers passing through are dropping but the highlight today was a juvenile carrying a huge amount of visible fat. It weighed 20.2g, the max expected weight for an adult is 17.9g and most Sedgies we catch weigh 10 to 12g. It must have found a good food source on its travels.
A Green Sandpiper was calling over the marsh.

Around the estuary this afternoon there were 20 Dunlin and 20 Ringed Plovers. Last night was much the same with the addition of 7 Sanderling on Poppit. 5 Common Sandpipers at Jewsons.
