There was a steady westward trickle of Kittiwakes, and Manx Shearwaters were moving in large numbers both east and west throughout the watch. Once again, large mixed feeding flocks of predominantly Manxies, with Kittiwakes and other assorted gulls, Auks and Gannets were present. At one time the flocks stretched, almost without a break, as far as one could see from the west to east and well out to sea, with at least ten thousand Manxies among them, not landing to feed, but diving in from a foot or two up like mini-Gannets. Porpoises were active in the area at the same time.

There were good numbers of excited Swallows on the overhead wires on the way to the Head and several came in off the sea during the watch.
