Info Post

St Govans (cont)

I bashed my BTO chat square at 0600 this am - bitterly cold wind, Richard's wheatears (by the sounds of it outside my square - typically the best bits of habitat are outside the square)  were probably keeping their heads down. The only wheatear I saw was a male perched in the middle of a large stand of gorse, pretending to be a stonechat. I think there's a pair nesting in one of those dry stone features.

I did see about 10 wheatears, all but one females, later on at at around 12.30 dodging about the rocks just east of Broadhaven South - just to the left of the chough in Richard's banner photo.
