Martins Haven & Marloes Mere

I had a thoroughly enjoyable walk around the Mere this morning with Richard Ellis. Highlights were a flock of 26 Chough, the three Glossy Ibis taking a short recreational flight around the mere in the high winds, and good numbers of Sand and House Martins, as well as a solitary Swift.This evening the strengthening winds have pushed good numbers of Manx Shearwaters very close to the South side of the Deer Park, with at least two loose flocks of several hundred birds flying in towards Renny's Slip before being lost in the mist at around 2015.
