At Kilpaison this morning with the tide still well up a small group of waders flew in to the beach - 11 Dunlin and a splendid juvenile Curlew Sandpiper (lead bird in shot above and below left). As the tide dropped more waders dropped in and the final tally was a further 46 Ringed Plover, 26 Barwits, 4 Knot, 1 Sanderling and a 3 Golden Plover which flew over. Many Curlew and Oystercatchers were still on the roost out on the left of the bay as we left. No Goldcrests!
Over at Angle Harbour no sign of the Cattle Egret but a Spotted Redshank (below right) on the side of the shingle spit was a nice surprise. Also there 35 Redshank, 4 Turnstone, 2 Little Egrets and 10 Curlew. Click photos for larger image.
