Info Post
Wheatears were everywhere today and lots of Willow Warblers too. Whitethroats and Sedge Warblers were present in numbers for the first time and there were about 10 Blackcaps and 2 Garden Warblers present. There were probably just about eighty Whimbrels again. A Hooded Crow flew north along Whitesands Bay towards the Head early on and there was a female Whinchat at the Crossroads in Porthmelgan Valley. At the Youth Hostel there were 2 Lesser Whitethroats singing and an elusive female Redstart. 5 Swifts and good numbers of Hirundines moved through along with 4 Redpolls (sp) and a few Siskins and Goldfinches. All very exciting.
