No sign of the Pectoral Sandpiper at Llangloffan Fen this morning up until c. 10 a.m.Nearby a Red Kite was flying over fields near Mathry where the hay was being cut. A couple of times I thought the Kite was playing with long strands of grass but on closer inspection it appeared to have plucked up a small mammal or bird disturbed by the tractor, with grass stems entangled in the process, and was eating the victim on the wing.
