At least 12 Males seen there over two recent visits, a few more than last year. So far no young fledged but the males are all singing and very defensive of their territory so probably just a late year. There's a constant buzzing of redpolls and a flock of 30 Mistle Thrushes but the star birds have to be Redstarts of which at least five families are busy around the edge of the moor.
There's plenty of non-avian interest too with Small Red Damselflies, Beautiful Damoiselles, Keeled Skimmers, Golden Ringed Dragonflies all very active in the warm weather. Green Hairstreaks also out at the moment. There's plenty Clouded Buff moths flying when its sunny, a species which apparently only has 12 previous records in Pembs. I would move on to the plants (sundews, Bog Asphodel etc) but this is a bird blog!
